When we dream or dream the capitalist economic and social system does not able to capture us. This is one of the last bastions of originality and true freedom of individuals, who in dreams can connect with each other, create alternative stories, worlds or events. Unfortunately, the progressive development of technology in the areas of AI and virtual reality, and the increasing tiktokization of media, advertising and forms of communication, suggests that in the future even dreams will be increasingly dependent on consumer mechanisms, or economic hierarchy. It is possible that in the coming years, the nightmare in which we are chased by some unidentified figure will be interrupted by advertisements for sportswear stores or self-defense courses. My project is a reconstruction of images that have dreamed to me over the past few years, during which I have studied and explored visual culture, art. The anxiety accompanying them is related to the progressing climate change, the ruthless, all-encompassing system and oppressive technology, which I nevertheless arrange into a hopeful narrative that functions literally and figuratively as a kind of escape from a reality from which it is impossible to escape.
This project is based on images appearing in my dreams, which I then tried to find in reality, sometimes using manipulation to approximate the remembered images. Sometimes I experimented with the images, moving them beyond the characters in my dreams, de facto manipulating my visions as if algorithms could do it in the future.
